  • Life still chugging on

Not complaining – not at all. Was given a compilation of “future stories” for my birthday, where a bunch of my closest friends put together would-be news outlet/facebook/instagram entries on the adey in 2046 — that is, 32 years from now. Of course, Driftingpanda had to break the mold and write a “xanga post”. Very good times.

Back into the car scene, by the way. Super happy to have dirt under my fingernails again.

Lots and lots of travel, which I love.

Life is taking shape, I think? We’ll see a few years on. I do reminisce (and miss) the “old days” from time to time.

If anyone in the world, anywhere, reads this, leave a note. Or an eprop. It would affirm the 10 minutes I just spent on this site, after 2 years without.

  • Long Hiatus

Hello again. It’s been a while, so I’m back with a couple of photos. I don’t know what the point is, I don’t care much for blogs… and I can’t even access this regularly in China.  I guess it’s another memory egg in another basket-within-the-internet-basket. I should print out and file everything I’ve ever put up on the internet.

    Bye!

  • Hello fellow dorks of the global blogdom!

Just wanted to let you know that I have not yet been involved in any fatal accidents on the roads of Shanghai (2006 – present), nor did I drink myself to death on Tuscan wine (Dec 2008), nor have I been mowed down by the Viet Cong (Jan 09), nor did I plummet to my death from 华山 (Mar), nor was I flattened by any cross-country 18-wheelers (Jun), nor did I fall out of any openable train doors and get trampled by stray cows (Aug), nor have I been bombed by any Israelis (nor shelled from the Golan heights for that matter)(Sept), nor have I been licked for chewing gum (Dec) nor have I gotten my tongue stuck to any ice sculptures and frozen to death (Jan 10)… no… I am still very much alive and kicking. Although, in my old age, my knees are starting to “hurt” in these cold winter months. Oh gosh.

Oh. My new company insists that we single space after full-stops. I say fuck them!!

OK. A year in pics. :D

  • Greetings, readers!
Long time, as usual, no see.
I thought about you tonight. The purported anonymous reader, the caring webizen, the fellow xangarian. Allllll you people who are supposedly out there, supposedly reading my text that is, supposedly, meaningful. Or profound. Or otherwise of interest to you. Supposedly.

My friend talked about toying with the idea of starting a blog tonight. Not the blogger personality type, but it would be interesting. Maybe I’ll refer them to Xanga, and I can get some commission. In Xanga points. (Whatever those are.)

I am… still in Shanghai, still well, still at my firm. Thankfully. I’ve been reading Kite Runner. I am enjoying it. I’m still trying to find my place in Pillars of the Earth, too, but will get back to that when I’m done. Kite runner reminds me of how much I wanted to see Afghanistan. Such a pity about the Russians, the Taliban, the war and bloodshed that the country (and many other countries) saw and is still seeing. It’s hard to help the feeling that it’s all just so unnecessary. … ay, like so much else in our lives. (Xanga included. Snicker.)

OK, cats are making some funny noises with a box and/or a bag in the living room/kitchen now, so I should go see what’s up. Then shower. In my bathroom that has, running across it, a permanent puddle/stream, formed by the water that runs off the walls from the leaking pipe above.

    Ciaociao!

  • Hi guys.
I am in the USofA.  Which is how I can get on Xanga.  Wuhoo.
    How have you all been?
    I am… I don’t know.  Ask Danny.  (Hi, Danny!)
OK.  Now that I’ve successfully posted what appears to be an entry full of emoness (and strange grammar), I shall leave you be.  After one photo.

  • Guesses for the location of the above photo?
I’m going to Tokyo.  Hopefully.  Shanghai is rainy.  Poury, actually.
    Bye!

  • I think you should all move to Shanghai.
    Yeah?  Yeah??
(At very least, you could visit…)

  • Hi guys!
Just wanted to say that I miss you all.
Xanga has definitely been neglected, but my paper journal has not seen ink like this since 1998, so it all goes somewhere…
flaming pens!  I’m going to start a drift club named that if I ever get a car in Shanghai.  Or Burning Ball-points.  How about Flaming Fountains or Roasted Roller-balls?  That one sounds…. yucks.  Pyro Pencils.  Hur hur.  OK bye.

PS – I am trying to visit the following places some time this year (or if not this, then next!!):
    Los Angeles
    London
    Singapore
    Tokyo

SO… if you plan to be in any of those cities, let me know when. :)
